Orderly book, 1804-1816.

Orderly book, January 28, 1804 - September 18, 1816. It contains general, legionary, division, brigade and regimental orders, orders from Albany, as well as a few regimental orders. The regiment was commanded by Lt. Col. Gerard Steddiford until 1807, when Steddiford was promoted to brigadier general and Lt. Col. Laight took over command of the regiment. The brigade was a part of Maj. Gen. Thomas's division. The militia was called into actual service, July 15, 1807, when a quota of 12,000 men was ordered raised from New York by the President.
